I am currently enrolled in a photography course that I'm really enjoying.  This is only my second week but I've learned so much.  Yesterday, while up at the farm, Noah wanted to play in the creek and I took the opportunity to become more familiar with my camera.  I played with all sorts of different settings and by the end, took WAY too many pictures.  Here are some that I like.

This was cute.  Gigi showed Noah a worm and Noah became very attached.  He was fascinated with this little guy.

"Look Mom.  A worm!"

The exposure on this one is kinda crazy but it captures such a sweet moment.  Noah put the worm up to his cheek and said in the sweetest little voice, "I love it."  He continued on to tell us that "the worm is cute".  :)

"The worm is swimming!!"

He's signing "worm" in this one...

I love these 2 so much.  They make my heart dance a little jig.

Again with the weird exposure but look at the puddle in the lower right corner.  See the reflection?

This blog is sure to become quite colorful in the weeks to come.  I've been practicing on my camera and some of the moments I have captured are too great not to share.

Easter 2009 - farm style

We traveled up to the farm on Saturday (and Sunday) and Will and Ginger had an easter egg hunt planned for Noah.  They'll be in Texas for Easter celebrating Miss Kiera's birthday.  Happy Birthday Kiera!!  Anyway, Noah had 58 eggs to find all by himself and he had a blast.  It was a little chilly outside so Ammon grabbed this jacket from the car.  He didn't realize it was Griffin's jacket.  Haha!  It's a little small... Noah looks beefy.

When we came back on Sunday, he wanted to do another easter egg hunt.  :)

Are you kidding me?!

Griffin is down for the night.  I got Noah all set up in his room watching Lady and the Tramp and I settled into my bed to do a little research.  I'm looking for a new duvet cover for my down comforter.  Things were good.  All of a sudden Noah runs in with the biggest smile and the brightest eyes I've ever seen.  He says, "Look Mommy!  I did it" while shaking his foot in the air.  I catch a glimpse of something on his toes and immediately my mind starts racing.  What is that on his toes?  I know he doesn't know where I keep my nail polish.  And even if he found it, there's no way he could open it, right?  Turns out, I was wrong.  He did find my stash and he did open it.  I couldn't get mad at him.  He was so proud and I've never told him that he couldn't paint his nails by himself.  I kept my cool as we walked into his room where the handiwork took place.  He did get a little on the wood floor but, it's ok.  He could barely contain himself when I suggested we take a picture.  He did a pretty good job and now he knows that he needs to ask for help.  So many fun moments come along with motherhood.

I like it.

Sleep deprived but doing fine...

Griffin is an early riser.  We now have him sleeping through the night but he thinks waking up while it is still dark outside is ok.  Today, it was 4:45!!  I was able to get him to go back down for 45 minutes but still... not cool.  Poor Ammon had to get up after I nursed Griffin so I could shower and get ready for the day.

Ginger was meeting me here at 7:30 to help me with the babies while I appeared in court for my ticket.  :(   All went fine with that.  Part of it was dropped completely and the speeding was reduced to improper equipment so no points on my license and no increase to my insurance.  The boys were great and I was so grateful that Ginger came with me to help keep them occupied and happy.

This day has seemed never-ending.  Although I'm tired and worn out, I have had so much fun with my boys.  I love to watch them learn.  Two days ago, I taught Noah to say his first and last name when someone asks him what his name is.  "Noah Piatt"  He says it perfectly.  I've been teaching him the signs for his letters and he knows quite a few.  Ammon suggested that I teach him the first article of faith so, we're working on that too.

Griffin is learning as well.  He is a pro at picking up his snacks and getting them to his mouth.  Since he loves food so much, I put a trail of puffs along the carpet and he started crawling!  Well, sorta.  It's more of an army crawl but, it's progress.  I guess I should invest in some gates.  When Noah was his age, we lived in our apartment and I didn't have to worry about stairs.  I'm praying for no injuries with Griffin's newfound mobility.

Ammon will be gone tonight with some friends and I'm kinda excited about the idea of going to bed early.  Super early.  Like as soon as Noah gets tucked in, I'm out.  If Ammon were here, I'd want to snuggle up and watch one of our shows.  I'd end up going to bed super late and then have to wake up at some horrendous hour.  But tonight, zzzzz....  8:30 - please come soon.
